ICRM Privacy Policy

The Institute of Certified Records Managers (ICRM) respects the privacy of its members and other visitors to its website and believes that information provided online must be used responsibly and appropriately. To protect online privacy, the ICRM has implemented the following policy.

Collection and Use of Information 

The data collected by the ICRM is used only to help the ICRM better serve its members and to comply with applicable laws and regulations. It is the ICRM’s policy to collect and store only personal information that our members and visitors knowingly provide. Such personally identifiable information may include name, company name, email address, etc. (“personal information”). The ICRM does not knowingly collect information from persons under the age of 18. The ICRM does not sell, transfer, or disclose any personal information gathered at the ICRM website to any third parties, except in cases when the ICRM has a legal obligation to disclose such personal information.

Protection of Personal Information 

The ICRM has implemented a variety of encryption and security technologies and procedures to protect information stored in the ICRM database systems from unauthorized access. The ICRM also maintains procedural safeguards that restrict the access to personal information to ICRM Officers, Regents, or employees who need to know personal information in order to provide services to members.

Cookies and Internet Protocol [IP] Addresses

“Cookies” are files that contain information created by a web server that can be stored on a user’s hard disk for future use. The ICRM uses cookies to facilitate automated activity, store and track passwords, and review navigation patterns. Cookies are not used to disseminate information about users over the Internet or to analyze any information that users have provided.

The ICRM uses IP addresses to help diagnose problems with the ICRM server and to administer the ICRM website and database.

Links to Other Sites 

The ICRM website and database contain links to other websites. The ICRM has no control over and is not responsible for the privacy policies or content of such sites.
