Name: Kiersten McAvoy, CRM
Board Position: Regent, Marketing and Communications (2023-2024)
Experience
I have volunteered for the ICRM and ARMA (both at the local and regional levels) for over 16 years. For the ICRM, I have served on the Exam Development Committee (EDC) and Marketing Committee. As an ARMA member, I jumped in to our local chapter and served every almost every role (as a number of us do). I’ve revamped websites, collaborated on newsletters, helped plan and organize education sessions and seminars to promote the value of RIM and the ICRM credential across all industry verticals. As an ICRM volunteer, as a test writer and as Regent for Professional Development, I wrote questions for Parts 2 and 4 exams and participated in test bank reviews, outline updates, and help deliver exam preparation workshops. I understand the process and organization and also firmly believe that we must continue to evolve in this day and age or we will be found irrelevant.
What would you do to advance the future of the ICRM?
If we don’t stay relevant to our audience, we will get left behind. As Marketing and Communications Regent for the ICRM, I would focus on marketing efforts in spaces outside of our comfort zone. We know what’s worked well in the past, but I really want to push the needle and stretch beyond our traditional channels for marketing to "level up" the perception of the ICRM and what it has to offer. Let’s tap the creative talent of our members and create platforms for outreach beyond what we’ve always done- I would love to explore podcast development, YouTube channels, social media videos, and even create valuable professional development resources for current members. The Marketing Committee is a great group to work with and I look forward to empowering their creativity to drive results for the ICRM.
