Explain any relevant committee or leadership experience you have that will benefit the ICRM in the advancement of its vision and mission.
My experience serving as ICRM Regent, ARMA Director, AIEF Trustee, and a RIMPA Global Ambassador provides a great foundation for supporting the ICRM in being recognized and valued globally by employers. Additionally, as a hiring manager, I advocate for the CRM/CRA credential to be included in job ads, knowing that during the hiring process, candidates with an ICRM certification will stand out from the crowd.
What is your leadership background in terms of managing organizational growth and related challenges and opportunities?
My leadership style is collaborative and I’m always looking for ways to extend our reach into new areas. A few examples of this include: proposing the initial ICRM academic partnership with LSU in 2016, assisting with the ARMA/RIMPA partnership in 2022, and reinvigorating the ARMA/AIEF partnership this year.
What experience do you have in building high-functioning work teams and stakeholder relationships at your workplace and/or with association boards?
I’ve been a leader for more than 30 years. I find that in order to build strong teams (employee or volunteer), you must start with the individual. Once you understand why someone chooses to contribute, what skills they bring, and how to combine that with the group, you can create a more collaborative team environment.
What would you do to advance the future of the ICRM?
First, I’d refresh my understanding of the ICRM strategic plan. As I get more familiar with the current state and future plans, I’d offer some of my own ideas. To truly become influential globally, we must become a part of a broader professional community. This will require a continued focus on current partnership and collaboration efforts as well as a plan to pursue international opportunities.

Experience
After working for more than 30 years in the field of Records and Information Management creating and leading RIM programs within the government, healthcare, engineering, and energy sectors, I have accepted a new challenge as Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in the School of Information Studies at Louisiana State University. I believe that as seasoned professionals, we have a duty to give back to continue to grow and strengthen the profession for the next generation. That belief has prompted me to serve in many local and international board roles for ARMA, AIEF, and ICRM. As a longtime advocate for blending academics with practice, I helped create the first ICRM academic partnership with LSU in 2016.
