Name: Susan Marin, CRM, CIGO, MS, PMP
Position/Title: Senior Manager, Advisory
Company or Organization: Consilio, LLC
Board Position: Regent, Application and Exam Preparation (2025-2026)
Explain any relevant committee or leadership experience you have that will benefit the ICRM in the advancement of its vision and mission.
In my current role of Regent, Applications and Exam Preparation, I worked to increase the efficiency of candidate application review process. I have oversight over the creation of a learning module to streamline the examination preparation. With a partnership with the Mentoring Committee, we have increased communication with mentors and mentees to ensure candidates receive the assistance they need.
What is your leadership background in terms of managing organizational growth and related challenges and opportunities?
Every board brings unique challenges and opportunities. There isn’t a ‘one size fits all’ approach to committee work. We need to work together as a team and listen to various viewpoints. I work side-by-side with committee members from the brainstorming processes through drafts to implementation. There is no bad idea.
What experience do you have in building high-functioning work teams and stakeholder relationships at your workplace and/or with association boards?
In my consultant role in the Information Management space, it is my job to listen to my client’s needs (even those things they don’t know they are saying). As a project management professional, I understand the importance of bringing all viewpoints and ideas to the table to guide the discussion and final product.
What would you do to advance the future of the ICRM?
• Continue work on the learning management solution to provide consistent, real-time access to CRA/CRM exam preparation materials.
• Ongoing collaboration with the EDC to ensure candidates/members have access to industry best practices for the advancement of records and information management.
• Ongoing collaboration with the Mentoring Committee to provide ongoing support to our candidates.
